Where beer and cupcakes unite!

About Us

Sweet and Stout is the blog turned business of Jackie & Dylan Waidelich. We wholesale our cupcakes to local businesses here in Spokane, provide cupcakes for events, and even take orders. We usually share when we’re in the kitchen on our Facebook page and people can order some of the flavors we’ll already be baking at that time. You’ll just have to follow us to see what we’ll be up to next!

If you have an idea for a cupcake flavor, or a beer suggestion feel free to send us an email at sweetandstout[at]gmail.com

You guys are so inspiring! what a concept…and the photographs are amazing. Do I see a book in the making? Each post looks deliciously like a full color page in a specialty foods book. They all sound sooooo good.

  4. Hey Jackie, Dylan,
I loved your post about the Ski to Sea ESB caramel cupcakes. Hey, would you be willing to make a few dozen, and mail them to Bellingham, overnight express? I can cover the costs.

Thanks for considering my thoughts on your cupcakes.

  5. Are you thinking about the possibility of turning these out commercially at all? My wife and I just opened Brews on Washington downtown serving out a number of the beers that you’re using in your recipes. We also do coffee/pastries in the morning and I’d be interested to see if there isn’t a collaboration that’s worth investigating. brett at brewsonwashington.com

  8. Hi there, just made a small pledge to kickstarter because I think everyone needs a chance at their dream ( god, I sound old.) I hope this launches a great business. Since I am in NC, I won’t get to taste the results! Good luck! Oh and if you ever need inspiration, check out a cookbook by The Boozy Baker. She has some great recipes and combinations.

I wish you were in Colorado, you’d be so well recieved, I’d be knocking on your door for a daily dose 🙂 Have you considered any pumpkin or sweet potato cupcakes with a seasonal ale? I made a sweet potato casserole cupcake last year, sans beer, and it was wonderful, I think a little hoppyness would only make it better!

    • A few months ago we did a pumpkin cupcake (with Pumpking from Southern Tier), it was really good! I’d be interested in trying something with sweet potatoes for sure. Next weeks cupcake is probably going to be along the fall seasonal beer line, haven’t figured out which beer I want to use yet though. Any suggestions?

  10. How about a savory curry IPA cupcake?

Would you be interested in promoting on our local gofortcollins Mobile App? Maybe in trade for cupcakes? Beer and Cupcakes are the bomb here in Fort Collins, CO.

We just launched the mobile app for iPhones & Droids and have tons of promotion planned in the Collegian, at the Cinemark theater, in a coupon mag and in the Onion. Contact me if you have an interest and best wishes!

    • That would be really cool if we were in Fort Collins! However, we’re in Spokane, WA… a little ways away, but with all this positive feedback coming from Colorado, maybe an expansion is in our future! You never know!

Hi, Im stationed at Fairchild AFB right now, and my girlfriend is moving up here from Nevada. I know one day she wants to open up her own cupcake or bakery shop. She will need a job when she moves up here, and i’m trying to help her look around. I was curious if you are hiring at all, and maybe she could get some great experience with you. Any information would be appreciated, thank you!

    • Hi Chris,

I wish we were hiring, but right now we’re just not a big enough company to have any employees just yet. Hopefully we will get to that point in the future! Thanks for thinking of us, and good luck on the job hunt.
